Project Profile

Storage Built for the High Desert North of Phoenix.

  • 86,184 sq ft, ground-level mix
  • Climate-controlled and drive-up units
  • Boat, RV, and trailer parking
  • Front office and entry tower

My Storage Prescott Valley sits at 11460 East Santa Fe Loop off Fain Road in the Dewey area, serving Prescott Valley and the wider Yavapai County market at the foot of the Bradshaw Mountains. This is high-desert country that keeps pulling households up out of Phoenix, and it stores the way that lifestyle demands: boats, trailers, side-by-sides, and RVs alongside the ordinary household overflow. The 86,184-square-foot facility was built for that mix.

The property runs ground-level climate-controlled units, exterior drive-up storage, indoor vehicle space, and open parking for boats, trailers, and RVs, with a front office and entry tower fronting the road. Storage this varied asks a building to do several jobs at once, from sealing a conditioned interior to opening a door wide enough for a fifth-wheel, and the site plan has to let a truck and trailer move through it without a three-point turn.

Johnson Construction completed the self-storage construction scope across the site: the building envelope, the conditioned interior corridors, the storage partitions, and the roll-up door systems that run across the building rows. Broad drive aisles tie the exterior units and the larger vehicle bays together behind the office, and the entry tower gives the property the kind of curb presence a high-visibility corridor rewards.

High-desert construction carries its own demands. The envelope has to handle wide temperature swings and hard sun, the roofing has to shed a monsoon downpour, and the whole property has to look sharp against an open desert backdrop for years. Building climate-controlled self-storage and boat and RV storage on the same pad, and doing it so both formats work, is the part that takes a contractor who has done it before.

Climate-controlled self-storage construction and boat and RV storage construction do not need separate sites, and Prescott Valley proves it, carrying interior storage, direct drive-up loading, and long-vehicle movement on one operating property. As a licensed Arizona contractor, Johnson builds storage in the high-desert markets on the same footing it works the Wasatch Front.
